Mykogen

In November 2012 Abris acquired a majority stake in Mykogen Group, the leading producer of mushroom substrate in Central and Eastern Europe.

Mykogen offers both Phase III and Phase II substrate in bulk and in bags with total annual production exceeding 150kt. From its two production facilities, the company is well located to serve the largest and most professional mushroom growers.

Under Abris ownership, Mykogen acquired Fungis, also a Poland-based substrate producer, propelling it to the position of a market leader with an almost 20% market share. The company’s development was also intensified by, inter alia, strengthening and expanding the Mykogen management team, significant investment in production and technology infrastructure, as well as building two new, state-of-the-art factories in Ukraine.

In 2017, Abris sold Mykogen to Greenyard N.V., a global market leader of fresh, frozen and prepared fruit & vegetables, flowers, plants and growing media.
